Post MIES Networking Dinner Meeting

Following the Malaysia Interpreter Education Seminar (MIES) in August organised by RC Deaf Missions Malaysia, we also held a post MIES networking dinner meeting on Aug 27, 2009 for a group of delegates with Dr Debra Russell. This was a followup meeting to cover topics and clarifications on the content Dr Debra covered at the seminar. We share a few pictures with you. We had a good mix of Deaf and hearing delegates at this networking meeting.

The activity here is very intense. Everyone is head on focussed on the job to ensure the products are checked properly. Oct - Dec 2009 - Deaf Art Promotions at Starbucks, AMCORP Mall - a Collaboration between RC Deaf Missions and Starbucks

RC Deaf Missions thanks Starbucks for the continued opportunity in collaborating with the Mission to bring about Deaf Awareness to the public, to create lasting impact.

Sharing photos with you of the interactions at our Deaf Art Promotions, at Starbucks, AMCORP. And introducing some new faces of Deaf who are in our sales and marketing team.

Oct 3, 2009 - Sign Language Workshop at UCSI University

At  We had wonderful collaboration with the UCSI University Hope Revive Club. They invited the Mission to conduct a Sign Language Workshop for the university students. These photos show the workshop in progress conducted by Deaf Tutor Noordn Hassan (Dino).

          

  

You can tell from the photos that this workshop was a lot of fun, and a very meaningful interactive activity with about 20 UCSI Universiti students. A big thank you to Ms Ong Kay Rin, President of the UCSI Hope Revive Club, for taking the lead in getting in touch with us and collaborating with the Mission.

    Annie Wong (Deaf Coordinator - Stock Check and Quality Control) with her team fully engrossed in checking our stocks before they are displayed for sale. They are leaving no stone unturned.   

Chin Mei Mei (left) and Chin Mei Feng, the 2 Deaf Twins who just joined us working part time for the Mission. Mei Mei and Mei Feng will be assisting in the Deaf Marketing Team (headed by Carol Lau our Deaf Supervisor), and Stock Check/Quality Control team (headed by Annie Wong).

 Shamilah Razali , a Deaf part time staff of the Mission. She is also assisting in Deaf Sales and Marketing Team and Stock Check Team.

These Deaf staff who are young in tenure go through a mentoring process in working with senior Deaf. There is something very powerful and empoweing about this mentoring experience. Learning how to make decisions, learning to take that step forward. Courage.

A very happy customer who just purchased the 2010 Deaf Art Calendar.Next to the customer are Sathiakumaran (our long time serving part time Deaf staff in Deaf Art promotions), and Chin Mei Mei (a new Deaf staff) who joined us this month. The brown bag (containing the calendar) is printed on recycled paper. The calendar is also printed on recycled paper. We must strive to be conscious human beings of the environment.

Deaf Art Promotions in progress/View of the Deaf Art Calendar 2010

Yes folks, the Deaf Art Promotions are now in progress. Please find the Deaf Marketing Staff of RC Deaf Missions at the Starbucks Outlet, AMCORP Mall. This is a collaborative programme with Starbucks. We will soon share some photos of the scenes of our promotions, and faces of new Deaf Staff we have hired. Stay tuned for further information. Below is a view of the cover page of the Deaf Art Calendar. This is a yearly initiative by the Mission and its uniqueness makes it an exclusive must have among scores of members of the public.

               

The lady signing I LOVE YOU is our Lois Tham Sy Lianq. Lois is our Assistant Deaf Art Team Manager. She is also Co Manager for our Misssion Deaf Models, and part time Tour Coordinator for the Mission’s overseas Deaf visitors.

We thank Peter Lau Yok Ung , our Deaf Art Team Manager  for his contributions on this project - merits to him for his hard work

And a very big thank to Lim Anuar , our Deaf Art Consultant, for seeing to the finer details on making this product a "good to go".
