Introducing Parameswaran Gunaselan. Param is working on the design and layout of 12 newly created Hari Raya cards for 2008, and the Mission’s Deaf Art Calendar for 2009. You may be able to purchase these at the Deaf Art Expose 2008 event in early August.  On another note, Param recently played a key characters of the play in DeafBeat (themed - Pulsing Spirit) performance held at the KL Performing Arts Centre. The performance gained much recognition in the country.

Introducing Solomon Lim  Solomon is responsible for the design and layout of our seasonal greeting cards. He is also working together with Param on the layout and design of the Mission’s Deaf Art Calendar for 2009. In addition, Solomon is working on the layout and design of the Mission’s Chinese New Year cards for 2009 as well as producing 12 new designs.

Introducing Venugopal  We have introduced him before as one of our Deaf helpers for the April Deaf Art sale. Venu is working on 12 new designs for our Deepavali cards. He is also working on the design and layout of season cards.

Param, Solomon and Venu are a great team, working under the guidance of Peter Lau, our Deaf Art Team Manager.

Today, Thurs June 5, 2008 is World Environment Day. The Mission has decided to focus the month of June on using recycled items for its craft items which will be sold on the following dates :

Sat June 14 and Sun June 15 @ 10.00am - 9.00pm
Sat June 21 and Sun June 22 @ 10.00am - 9.00pm

Introducing Phoebe Ting  a new Deaf talent, who has created for the Mission a photo frame made from recycled material. Phoebe is also very talented in making costume jewellery. The Deaf Art Expose 2008 will see this force to be reckoned with as you get enchanted by those lovely costume jewellery pieces she creates. Phoebe’s other favourite past time (which she very much enjoys with her husband Solomon) is photography.

This photo frame is an original signature item. So, don’t miss on getting one.The brown bags we will give away with the photo frame are made of recycled paper, bearing our Mission logo and motto, but it will also give details of our forthcoming Deaf Art Expose 2008 evening (Fri Aug 1-Sun Aug 3).
